Researching potential locations for Photography

I went into Town and took a range of photographs of potential locations. The locations that I choose will form my location recce.

The colour contrast between the two walls creates an appealing image, the old (abandoned looking) door reflects an indie kind of feel. I feel that this could be a good image through the way in which the colours could be used.

In this car park the fact that there often isn't many cars creates a good looking image, the cars that will be there will appear out of place due to the fact that it is predominately empty, this therefore creates abstract feel.

This place is a very good place for an image, it includes a lot of the features you would expect from a photo location, the colours are black and therefore that of the normal indie colours, the colour contrast between the left hand side of the image and the right hand side of the image appears visually very indie, the use of the leaves would be good due to the fact that it takes up a part of the image that would otherwise appear bland, the stairs are both black but appear sharp, the building also has an abstract feel to it through the way in which it is laid out, finally the graffiti adds the final touch to a successful location.

The reason this could be used would be due to the fact that the sculpture is abstract and as is the indie genre, however i feel it wouldn't work well with the magazine or the genre.

The staircase would be good with the genre, the colours work well with the contrast of dark vs light, the stairs look mucky and therefore would work well with the type of clothes you would be expected to wear with the genre.

I don't feel that this location would be successful for the image that i am trying to create through the genre however the doors are something that could be used well through the size and weight of the doors as well as the old feel that they deliver that could almost be seen as 'vintage'

The colours that are used in this image would be good due to the colour contrast.
